US Delays Iran Strikes, Boosts Military Readiness Amid Saudi, UAE Concerns

by admin477351

Amid heightened tensions, President Donald Trump has decided to delay a planned military strike on Iran, which was set for Tuesday. This decision follows requests from key leaders in the Gulf region, including Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the United Arab Emirates’ President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. They assured Trump that significant negotiations are underway, and a potential agreement with Iran is on the horizon.

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump emphasized that the proposed deal would ensure Iran remains without nuclear weapons. He acknowledged the influence and status of the Gulf leaders, which played a crucial role in his decision to hold off the military action. Consequently, Trump has instructed U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Army Chief General Daniel Caine to defer the attack but remain vigilant.

Despite the pause, Trump has emphasized that the United States military remains on high alert. He has directed his defense team to stay prepared for a comprehensive strike should the ongoing diplomatic efforts fail. The President underscored that the readiness to launch a large-scale assault on Iran would persist until a satisfactory agreement is reached.

This development coincides with reports indicating that Iran has revised its proposal to the United States, communicated through Pakistani intermediaries. However, U.S. officials have expressed dissatisfaction, finding the adjustments insufficient to foster a deal. A senior U.S. official warned that if Iran’s position on its nuclear program remains unchanged, military dialogue could become inevitable, which they deemed regrettable.

Earlier, Iran submitted a 14-point revised proposal for negotiations, aiming to address the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Although the proposal included some modifications, U.S. sources suggest that it reflected Tehran’s apprehensions about potential further U.S. military interventions. The situation remains tense as diplomatic efforts continue to avoid escalation.
