Thailand Enhances Trade Routes with Vietnam, UAE via Air Travel Expansion

by admin477351

In a bid to enhance its global aviation links and bolster tourism, Thailand has formed new collaborations with Vietnam Airlines and flydubai, while also investing in upgrades to its regional airport infrastructure. This strategic move is set to improve both connectivity and accessibility throughout the region.

Vietnam Airlines has recently inaugurated a new flight route connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Phuket, which commenced on July 2. The airline offers this route four times a week, providing an annual seat capacity of approximately 39,500. This service is designed to cater to the growing number of travelers from Vietnam, which saw over 300,000 visitors head to Thailand in the first half of the year alone.

Meanwhile, flydubai has introduced a daily flight service between Dubai and Bangkok starting July 1. The airline is set to enhance this offering by increasing the frequency to twice daily from September 15, thereby strengthening the air travel link between the UAE and Thailand.

In addition to these partnerships, Thailand is also set to enhance its regional airport operations through the introduction of the Aerodrome Flight Information Service (AFIS). This system aims to optimize air traffic management, boost operational efficiency, and improve access to less central cities. Initially, AFIS will be implemented at Phrae and Phetchabun airports, with a target completion by 2028 and the potential for further expansion to other regional airports subsequently.
