President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed of the United Arab Emirates met with Sheikh Meshal, the Emir of Kuwait, in Kuwait City on Wednesday to discuss key regional developments, with a strong focus on the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The leaders jointly called for an immediate ceasefire and renewed efforts toward achieving a comprehensive and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.

During their meeting at Bayan Palace, both leaders emphasized the importance of building upon growing international recognition of the Palestinian state. They expressed their shared commitment to supporting all initiatives aimed at ending the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and restoring stability in the region.

Sheikh Meshal hosted a luncheon in honor of Sheikh Mohamed, who was accompanied by a high-level delegation including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE. The Kuwaiti Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah, and Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al Sabah also attended the talks.

The visit reaffirmed the strong and long-standing relations between the UAE and Kuwait. Both nations continue to enhance cooperation across various sectors, including infrastructure, education, cybersecurity, and defense—building on the agreements signed during the UAE-Kuwait Joint Higher Committee session and the opening of Kuwait’s new embassy in Abu Dhabi in 2024.
