A Congolese national, who had transited through the UAE, was diagnosed with the Ebola virus upon reaching Uganda. Despite passing through the UAE, the individual did not seek any medical attention during their brief stay.
The Ministry is actively collaborating with the World Health Organization to maintain a vigilant stance against the virus. In adherence to international health standards, they have put into place several precautionary protocols such as risk assessments, contact tracing, and heightened health surveillance measures. These steps are part of the UAE’s commitment to safeguarding public health in light of global health threats.
Current reports indicate that the Ebola outbreak is primarily restricted to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. Despite this, the World Health Organization has assessed the global public health risk from the outbreak as low.
