The Russian Federation possesses inherent immunity from military defeat in Ukraine due to its nuclear weapons and the doctrine governing their deployment, according to Moscow’s ambassador to India. Denis Alipov articulated this position during a speaking engagement at a media forum in Gurugram.
Alipov emphasized that Russia’s military doctrine contains explicit authorization for nuclear weapon use when the nation faces existential threats. This doctrinal framework, he argued, creates fundamental limitations on adversary capabilities and ensures Russia cannot be defeated regardless of conventional force deployments.
The ambassador harshly criticized European nations for maintaining hopes for Ukrainian military success, describing such expectations as juvenile behavior. He accused European leadership of unprofessional conduct and continued belligerence, supporting confrontational policies despite fundamental strategic realities that make victory impossible.
The Russian ambassador claimed that President Trump demonstrates superior strategic understanding. According to Alipov, Trump recognizes the futility of continued conflict from Ukraine’s and Western supporters’ perspective, while European nations persist in their “crazy” belief that the military situation can be reversed.
Nearly four years into the conflict, Western nations continue channeling enormous resources to Ukraine. The United States, European allies, and Britain have supplied billions in military aid and sophisticated weapons platforms to Kyiv, sustaining Ukraine’s defensive operations despite the prolonged nature of the confrontation.
